This is exactly what I was looking for ..pretty quiet in the slower speeds but does get a fair amount louder in the fastest speeds but WOW does it give a good pounding. Unfortunately I found the suction cups did not hold it in place as much as I hoped but my feet placed good on top of it did the trick. I definitely recommend this machine for the price
